Thomas Jefferson wrote, “I have often thought that nothing would do more extensive good at small expense than the establishment of a small circulating library in every county,” in 1809. Now, over two centuries later and after the Internet, libraries remain throughout our great nation.

Orinda Library is a testament to how important libraries are within the local community. After 100 years the library is still integral to the success of the community. On May 17th, from 3:00-5:00 pm, bring your family out to enjoy festive music, games and crafts in honor of the library’s 100th anniversary.

Scheduling for the anniversary include: a video presentation, a live quilting presentation, crafts, raffles and games. The library’s anniversary is a celebration; therefore, treats are available for people who come to celebrate this monumental occasion on the Library Plaza.
